As it’s summer holiday time I’ve been pootling about with other stuff but papier mache waits for no man, or indeed woman. I’ve been working on my pieces for the East Cheshire Art Fair. Some of you will have had a sneak preview of these if you came to the pop-up. No I still haven’t finished them! (I told you, it’s Holiday Time!) I spent Tuesday morning finishing the head on one. Then yesterday, pulling it apart again because I didn’t like it. Must get back on it…
On a happier note (and in keeping with the above title – this stuff isn’t just thrown together y’know), I had a lot of fun making this dog for a returning customer. I think she was a birthday present for a friend, so I’d better not say too much, in case I spoil a surprise! It was very enjoyable finding the right magazine pages for the grey parts and blending them in to the black. She was a very handsome beast.
And finally… the Next Big Thing is my papier mache course in Glenthorne. Only a couple of places left, so if you’ve been thinking of signing up, you’d better get a move on! That will all be kicking off in about a month’s time so stay tuned for further updates.
