About Patty

 I’m an artist and teacher, based on the edge of the Peak District in North West England.  I create birds, animals and people from reclaimed newspaper, magazines and wire.  The recycled materials bring an unplanned element  to the work.  Colours are dictated by what I can find, and random words and directional text bring their own qualities to the finished piece.  I use a cooked flour and water paste as my glue, which results in a durable matt finish as well as being wholly environmentally sustainable.

As well as my own art practice I also run regular workshops and classes, both in papier mâché and more general drawing and painting.
