Event Booking
It’s nearly here! My residential papier mâché course in Grasmere kicks off next week! I’m currently in the throes of cooking up paste and gathering newspapers and magazines. It’s all go! There are still a few places available so get in quick if you’d like to come. It all takes place at Glenthorne Quaker Centre 1-6 September. All the details are in my Holiday Edit Newsletter which you can read and download here.
Full board and lodging is included in the price (from £475) but you can also book for the course only and arrange your own accommodation. Contact the centre for details of this. Booking is through the Glenthorne website.
It’s all systems go in September. Once I’m back from Grasmere, I’ll be starting my newly relaunched Creative Art Workshops at All Saints Church Hall in Macclesfield SK11 8EL. All the details are below. I think we’ve got a great programme planned for the autumn, so if you’re interested in joining us for these please get in touch for more details.
And before all that happens, we’ve got life classes at Townley St Hall. These will be on Friday, September 13th and Thursday, September 19th. Bookings for both are now open! They’re booking up fast so scroll down to book your spot.
I also run bespoke courses so if you have a group that would like to do something together get in touch. Depending on the subject, I could run a one-off workshop for you (as an unusual birthday celebration??) or a short series. For example, I can put on a 4-week course in papier mâché where you can learn how to make your own animal. Or I can do a one-off session, showing you how to make simple concertina books, recycling found materials. If you have something in mind or just want to know a bit more please get in touch. Prices start at £60 per group for a 2-hour session.
Payment for all courses is made at the time of booking. All your details are processed securely and your credit card details are processed via Stripe. If an event is shown as sold out, click on ‘view detail’ to be added to the waiting list.

The next life class with a male model will take place on Friday, September 13th, 7-9 pm. Apologies to any triskaidekaphobics out there. We will be working from the live model. The session is relaxed and informal. No previous experience is necessary but if you’re new to life drawing Patty will guide you through the basics. Students are encouraged to look at each other’s work and share ideas. £10 per person Please bring your own materials. This can be whatever you like to draw with – pen, pencil, charcoal, pastels. An A4 or A3 pad is probably most convenient. If you prefer to work bigger or on loose paper then you will probably need a board. This can be rested on a chair in front of you or you can bring an easel if you have one. Please note: I require a minimum of 12 attendees for this event to go ahead. In the unlikely even that we do not reach this threshold, you will be offered a full refund. It hasn’t been necessary yet (touch wood!) My re-launched Creative Art Workshops begin on Tuesday 24 September 2024. I’ve got lots of exciting projects planned (well, I’m excited.) There’s going to be a drawing trip to Paradise Mill in October. I took a small group in the summer and we agreed unanimously to go again. We’ll also be trying a variation on an old favourite, monoprinting, as well as a few slightly festive-themed projects as we get towards December. To see the full programme click here. The class runs every Tuesday, 1-3 pm, with a break for half-term on 29 October, then running on until the final session on 3 December The same course also runs on Thursdays 10 am till midday and you are welcome to swap days if you’re unable to attend your regular session one week.
