I will be running a new afternoon papier mache workshop starting on May 29th and running for 5 weeks. This will be at a new venue – Hurdsfield Community Hub. All the details are below, but if you need more information, contact me.
I’m will also be running another residential course at Glenthorne Quaker Centre in Grasmere in September 2026. Giving you plenty of notice, so you can save the date! Please contact me if you’d like any more details about this, or any other workshops.
The summer term of Creative Art Workshops at All Saints Church Hall starts after Easter. All the information is below. Click here to see the programme or get in touch if you need any other information.
The next life classes at Townley St Hall will be on Friday 9th May (female model) and Thursday 15th April (male model). Bookiings will open here on Sunday 27th April.
I also run bespoke courses so if you have a group that would like to do something together get in touch. Depending on the subject, I could run a one-off workshop for you (as an unusual birthday celebration??) or a short series. For example, I can put on a 5-week course in papier mâché where you can learn how to make your own animal. Or I can do a one-off session, showing you how to make simple concertina books, recycling found materials. If you have something in mind or just want to know a bit more please get in touch. I am fully DBS-checked. Prices start at £60 per group for a 2-hour session.
Payment for all courses is made at the time of booking. All your details are processed securely and your credit card details are processed via Stripe. If an event is shown as sold out, click on ‘view detail’ to be added to the waiting list.

Come to Hurdsfield Community Hub to try your hand at some papier mâché with Patty! The 5-week workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. If you’re new to papier mâché you will learn how to make a 4-legged creature. Dog, cat, pig, dragon – the choice is yours! If you’ve already done one of my courses then you might want to try your hand at a bird or a figure this time. Our basic materials will be newspaper, magazines, wire and glue. We’ll be using a flour and water paste (no nasty chemicals) which can easily be made at home. You can download the recipe here, though I will supply enough for everyone, as well as wire and masking tape. The only materials you need to bring are newspapers (too bulky to carry on my bike!) – and ideally some pictures of what you’d like to make. It could be a real animal or a fantastic beast of your own devising!
